The new deadline for the submittal is October 4, 1993.
Please be advised that all listed responsible parties for this site, including yourself, are responsible for
complying with all applicable Federal (40 Federal Code of Regulations Part 280) and State (California
Health and Safety Code, Chapter 6.75) laws and regulations (Underground Tank Regulations, Chapter 16)
pertaining to underground storage tanks and the cleanup associated with a release from underground
storage tanks.
Failure to comply with the directives from this office pursuant to the underground storage tank laws and
regulations may result in enforcement action against all the listed responsible parties.
Enforcement action may result in significant fines and penalties.
Therefore, communication and cooperation between all listed responsible parties is imperative so that
cleanup can proceed in a reasonable time and manner. Access to the site to perform the required
investigation and cleanup of the contamination is essential. All parties involved should work together to
ensure that deadlines for submittals are met and that work at the site is not delayed.
Also, please be advised that lack of cooperation between responsible parties which results in
noncompliance with the directives from this office may jeopardize the former tank owner's eligibility for
reimbursement of costs associated with corrective action by the State Water Resources Control Board
Underground Storage Tank Cleanup Fund program.
Please contact Linda Turkatte, Senior REHS, of my staff at (209) 468-3441 if you have any questions on
this matter or would like to discuss this letter in more detail.
Jogi Khanna, M.D., M.P.H.
ealth Officer
Donna Heran, REHS, Program Manager
Environmental Health Division
DH/LT
c: CVRWQCB-Beth Thayer
c: SWRQB-Susan Phillips
c: William Look
A DimIM(A Vn Joaquin counry HdN :emcea C0
