Failure to meet this
deadline may result in formal enforcement action against all responsible parties.
Data collected to date shows that the damage to the environment at this site has been
significant. The groundwater, designated for domestic, municipal, agricultural and
industrial use by the State Water Resources Control Board, has been severely impacted.
For this reason, this site is considered to be a high priority site and progress in the
investigation and abatement of the soil and groundwater contamination must continue in
a timely manner. Ongoing litigation is not justification for delays in the investigation and
abatement of the contamination.
Please be advised that a directive from this office to proceed with corrective action is an
enforcement action and that sites are not removed from the program until corrective
action has been satisfied and the site is certified with closure.
