CHEROKEE LN. , LODI , CA (P.N . 041-274-56) The City of Lodi Building Department has brought to the attention of the Fire Prevention Bureau that the service station at the above location is no longer dispensing g P g gasoline . I talked with a Mr . Carrillo of J & A Auto Repairs , now doing business at 521 N. Cherokee Ln . He stated he is only doing auto repairs and has never dispensed gasoline . He also stated that a Mr. Khan had been running the service station but quit selling gasoline around March of 1987 and nobody is selling gasoline at this time . This letter is to inform you that Section 79. 133(a) of the 1982 Uniform Fire Code requires that a permit ,be issued to remove , abandon , place temporarily out of service or otherwise dispose of any flammable or combustible liquid tank . Section 79 . 113(b) states tanks temporarily out of service shall have the fill line, gage opening and pump connection secured against tampering , Vent lines shall remain open and be maintained in accordance with the requirements of this article (Article 79) for vent lines . Section 79 . 113(c) states , any tank not used for a period of 90 days shall be properly safeguarded of removed in a manner approved by the chief . Tanks which are to be placed back in service shall be tested in a manner approved by the chief . Section 79 . 113(e) states any underground tank which has been abandoned for a period of one year shall be removed from the ground and the hole properly filled .
