Carl Yearing <br /> 1062 Rodeo Road <br /> Pebble Beach , CA 93953 <br /> Dear Mr . Yearing: <br /> RE: UNDERGROUND FLAMMABLE LIQUID TANKS <br /> 521 N . CHEROKEE LN. , LODI , CA <br /> (P.N . 041-274-56) <br /> The City of Lodi Building Department has brought to the attention <br /> of the Fire Prevention Bureau that the service station at the <br /> above location is no longer dispensing g P g gasoline . <br /> I talked with a Mr . Carrillo of J & A Auto Repairs , now doing <br /> business at 521 N. Cherokee Ln . He stated he is only doing auto <br /> repairs and has never dispensed gasoline . He also stated that a <br /> Mr. Khan had been running the service station but quit selling <br /> gasoline around March of 1987 and nobody is selling gasoline at <br /> this time . <br /> This letter is to inform you that Section 79. 133(a) of the 1982 <br /> Uniform Fire Code requires that a permit ,be issued to remove , <br /> abandon , place temporarily out of service or otherwise dispose of <br /> any flammable or combustible liquid tank . <br /> Section 79 . 113(b) states tanks temporarily out of service shall <br /> have the fill line, gage opening and pump connection secured <br /> against tampering , Vent lines shall remain open and be <br /> maintained in accordance with the requirements of this article <br /> (Article 79) for vent lines . <br /> Section 79 . 113(c) states , any tank not used for a period of <br /> 90 days shall be properly safeguarded of removed in a manner <br /> approved by the chief . Tanks which are to be placed back in <br /> service shall be tested in a manner approved by the chief . <br /> Section 79 . 113(e) states any underground tank which has been <br /> abandoned for a period of one year shall be removed from the <br /> ground and the hole properly filled . <br />
