The <br /> property is bounded by Lockford Street & Southern Pacific Rail- <br /> road tracks on the south, Cluff Avenue on the east, and a <br /> frontage road to Highway 99 on the west. Victor Road, which is <br /> Highway 12, is just to the south of- the railroad tracks. <br /> The general area is zoned for commercial and industrial use, and <br /> the C.C. Wood property has been used primarily for the repair, <br /> maintainance & storage of machinery & equipment used for aggre- <br /> gate production, manufacture 'of asphalt and .concrete, and similar <br /> types of heavy equipment. It contains in excess <br /> of 15,000 feet of Mesozoic & Cenozoic age Sediments, derived <br /> primarily from the uplift and erosion of the Sierra Nevada <br /> Batholith to the east. The topography is one of :very low relief, <br /> with drainage in a westerly direction of about 5-.to 10 feet per <br /> mile. The nearest waterway is the:'Mokelumne river, approximately ' <br /> 1/2 mile to the north; it has a. meandering course, and drains E <br /> into the Stockton Delta area 'in the vicinity 'of Stockton. . FLATE r <br /> III is a portion of a USGS topographic sheet 'showing more detail. <br /> SOIL CLASSIFICATION: � <br /> According to the 1952 publication issued by the University of <br /> California, titled "Soils of San Joaquin County, ' California, " the <br /> area is underlain by Hanford Sandy loam, which was derived from <br /> recent alluvial fans or flood plain deposits of granitic origin. <br /> It is brown in color, has an -undeveloped profile; and is <br /> generally underlain by unconsolidated material..
