►.i *.r
880 VICTOR, LODI
PAGE 2
21 feet bsg), 0.26 ppm of Benzene (Tank 1 at 14.5 feet bsg), and 1.1 ppm, 1.7 ppm, and
16 ppm of Toluene, Ethyl-benzene, and Xylenes, respectively (Tank 2 at 18.5 feet bsg).
Methyl Tert-Butyl Ether (MTBE) analysis was not conducted.
One soil sample was taken at 33 feet bsg beneath the existing east UST in an angle
boring by Enviros, Inc. on February 22, 1996. According to Soil Boring Installation
Report dated May 8, 1996 prepared by Enviros, Inc., analytical results of the soil sample
were 29 ppm of MTBE, and were non-detect for TPH-g and BTEX.
PHS/EHD has received Site Investigation Report dated June 9, 1999 prepared by
Cambria Environmental Technology, Inc. (Cambria):
• Five borings were advanced in the vicinity of the former UST area on January 14,
1999 and January 15, 1999 by Cambria. Groundwater was encountered at
approximately 50 bsg.
• Both soil and grab water samples were collected in Soil Boring#3 (SB-3) and SB-4
for laboratory analyses.
• Only soil samples were collected in SB-1, SB-2, and SB-5 for laboratory analyses.
• Analytical results of the grab water sample collected from SB-3 were 46,000 parts
per billion (ppb) of TPH-g, 243 ppb of Benzene, 2,270 ppb of Toluene, 1,380 ppb
of Ethylbenzene, 13,900 ppb of Xylenes, and 28,000 ppb of MTBE. Analytical
results of the grab water sample collected from SB-4 were 6,610 ppb of TPH-g, 63.6
ppb, 85.5 ppb, 200 ppb, and 1,240 ppb of BTEX, respectively, and 8,050 ppb of
MTBE. These results are above the California Primary Maximum Contaminant
Levels (MCL) for public drinking water of 1 ppb for Benzene, 1000 ppb Toluene,
680 ppb Ethylbenzene, 1,750, ppb Xylenes, and the public health goal of 13 ppb for
MTBE.
• Laboratory analyses of the soil samples from all five borings taken from various
depths ranging between 22 feet bsg to 60 feet bsg revealed minimal concentrations
of TPH-g and BTEX. However, analytical result of soil sample taken from SB-1 at
25 feet bsg was 92.9 ppm of MTBE. MTBE was also detected in laboratory analysis
of soil samples taken at and beneath the water table. Analytical results of the soil
sample taken from SB-3 at 50 feet bsg was 2.36 ppm of MTBE, and at 56 feet bsg
0.135 ppm of MTBE. Analytical results of the soil sample taken from SB-4 at 50
feet bsg was 0.507 ppm of MTBE, and at 60 feet bsg 0.459 ppm of MTBE.
