4
yrs
SEP 2 9 1988jj)
6V6'h«„
PER/yll)ERVIC'ESrH
September 28, 1988
Mr. Gordon Boggs
Underground Tank Program Coordinator
California Regional Water Quality Control Board
Central Valley Region
3443 Routier Road
Sacramento, CA 95827
Dear Mr. Boggs:
I would like to file an extension for submitting work plans for two (2) of
the former Regal sites:
1) Regal 603, 6425 Pacific Avenue in Stockton is currently in the permitting
process for tank removal. I would expect the tanks to be removed in
the early part of October. At that time, we will take the necessary
soil samples to ensure that no product has leaked into the environment
from the storage or distribution systems. We will forward copies of
the soil samples to your office, as well as to San Joaquin Local Health
District.
2) Regal 533, 8228 Auburn Blvd. in Citrus Heights has three (3) monitoring
wells currently on site. We will remove and replace the tanks in the
spring/summer of 1989. I would like an extension on this site so I can
inspect the records on the tank work across the street. Approximately
one (1) year ago, Food & Liquor had some sort of contamination problem,
dirt aerating, etc. when they went to replace their tanks. Also, I
would 14k- to have the three (3) wells re-same-led to confirm any
hydrocarbon contamination. I would expect the sampling and record
search to be complete by November 1, 1988.
If you have any questions, please call me at 916/921-3485.
S'ncerely,
ohn Margowski
Manager, Environmental Affairs
JM:sw
pc: Mrs. Laurie Cotulla, San Joaquin Local Health District, Stockton
Ms. Elise Rothchild, Sacramento County Environmental Health, Hazardous
Materials, Sacramento
1765 Challenge Way, P.O.
