WICKLAND OIL COMPANY -3- 18 August 1988
completion of this report should be submitted
by 23 September 1988.
2) Regal Station #503
Delta Environmental Consultants, Inc. drilled
two soil borings along the northern boundary
of the site property, approximately 85 and 95
feet from the underground tanks. The borings
extended to 25 feet. No ground water was
encountered. Delta Engineering reported that
strong petroleum odors were emanating from
the tank backfill area during tank repairs
conducted at this site. Also, a report by
Harding-Lawson Associates showed that three
of the five monitoring wells located within
the tank backfill area contain floating
product. The depth to ground water at this
site is unknown, but is assumed, by Delta
Engineering, to be less than 30 feet from the
surface.
Due to the presence of water and product in
the backfill and the shallow depth to ground
water it is possible that soil and ground
water contamination have occurred outside the
backfill. Please submit a Soil Contamination
Workplan (Appendix A, page A-4) to both the
Yolo County Department of Environmental
Health Services and this Regional Board by
30 September 1988.
3) Regal Station #510
The Site Environmental Investigation report
prepared by Delta Environmental Consultants
(16 June 1988) and excerpts from an undated
Harding-Lawson Associates report show the
presence of free product on the ground water
and high levels of dissolved contaminaticn at
this site. To assess the extent of
contamination, Wickland Cil Company is
requested to submit a Preliminary Report
(Appendix A, page A-8) by 19 September 1988.
Included in the report should be a time
schedule for completing a Problem Assessment
Report (Appendix A, page A-9) by 5 December
1988. Submit these reports to both Mr. Kevin
Dickson of the Roseville Fire Department and
this Regional Board.
