WICKLAND OIL COMPANY -4- 18 August 1988 4) Regal Station #511 During the Site Environmental Investigation, Delta Environmental Consultants installed three monitoring wells. The wells were completed to 20. 5 feet and are located at distances from 110 and 150 feet from the underground storage tanks. Floating product and dissolved hydrocarbons were found in the monitoring well (MW-3) nearest the tanks. Dissolved hydrocarbons were also found in the most distant monitoring well (MW-2) . In the boring log for this monitoring well (MW-2) , a diesel odor was reported but no laboratory analyses were conducted to determine diesel content. No contamination was reported in the other monitoring well (MW-1) . To assess the extent of contamination, Wickland Oil Company is requested to submit a Preliminary Report (Appendix A, page A-8) by 30 September 1988 to the Yolo County Department of Environmental Health Services and this Regional Board. Included with this report should be a time schedule for completing and submitting a Problem Assessment Report (Appendix A, page A-9) by 5 December 1988. 5) Regal Station #515 Two soil borings were drilled along the western boundary of the site property, located approximately 20 and 80 feet from the underground tanks. Soil samples from the boring nearest the tank field revealed soil contamination at 10 and 25 feet below the surface. The contamination levels found in the soil from this boring ranged as follows; benzene, 0. 6 ppm to 1. 14 ppm; toluene, 0. 062 ppm to 1. 1 ppm; ethyl-benzene, 0. 007 ppm to 0.5 ppm; xylenes, 0. 11 ppm to 2.2 ppm. The depth of ground water at this site is unknown, but Delta Environmental suggests that it is within 50 feet of the surface. If so, ground water could very well be impacted at this site.
