Soil samples will be collected using decontaminated equipment and placed in laboratory prepared containers. All drilling equipment, pipe, and materials coming in contact with the borehole material will be decontaminated t before use according to the procedures described in Section S.O. All sampling equipment will be decontaminated prior to *- sampling following these same procedures. Soil samples will be collected as monitoring well drilling progresses. All downhole drilling equipment will be decontaminated prior to use and between use for each well according to the procedures described in Section 6.0. All well construction material, including well casing, - screen, and well caps, will be decontaminated prior to installation by steam cleaning according to the procedures described in Section 6.0. I � To prevent the transfer of surface contamination to a well, a Portland cement and bentonite surface seal will be installed in conformance with recgulitory requirements. The casing will be fitted with a water tight locking cap. No solvent or glue will he used in well construction. The wellhead will be contained below grade in a water-tight traffic rated box or otherwise protected from damage. In order to assure that groundwater samples ure obtained from formation material and not from the filter pack, wells will be purged in accordance with the appended Well Development Protocol. - Samples will be placed in laboratory prepared containers, appropriate for the analyses specified as indicated on Table 1. i
