`i <br /> Mr Harlin Knoll Environmental <br /> 11 August 2000 Resources <br /> Page 2 Management <br /> • <br /> additional monitoring well installed at each former tank location in <br /> accordance with their 15 June 2000 letter <br /> In accordance with the County's request, Heinz agreed to install an <br /> additional monitoring well at each former tank location <br /> SCOPE OF WORK <br /> MONITORING WELL INSTALLATION <br /> Following workplan approval, the monitoring well installation activities <br /> will be conducted The location of the proposed monitoring wells is <br /> shown in Figures 1 and 2 As shown, ERM proposes to install one <br /> monitoring well (MW-7) adjacent to existing monitoring well MW-4 at <br /> former UST location 1 A second monitoring well (MW-8) will be <br /> installed adjacent to existing monitoring well MW-6 at former UST <br /> location 2 Consistent with the County's request, these proposed <br /> locations are located immediately downgradzent of the former tank <br /> locations, in the areas where the highest chemical concentrations have <br /> been detected in shallow ground water <br /> Each of the proposed monitoring wells will be constructed of 2-inch PVC <br /> and screened from a depth of approximately 30 to 40 feet bgs The wells <br /> will be constructed in accordance with all applicable regulations Soil <br /> samples will be collected during the installation of each well for <br /> Iithologic interpretation according to the uniform soil classification <br /> system No soil samples will be collected for laboratory analysis <br /> GROUND WATER SAMPLING <br /> Following the installation and development of the wells, ground water <br /> samples will be collected from each monitoring well In accordance with <br /> previous sampling events, each of the samples will be analyzed for <br /> TPH-g and BTEX compounds using EPA Method 8020 During the initial <br /> sampling of the new monitoring wells, ground water samples will also be <br /> collected from all existing monitoring wells at the site (MW-1 through <br /> MW-6) and analyzed for the same compound list present above (i e , <br /> TPH-g and BTEX) <br />
