California Work will be performed by ERM-Enviroclean, Inc and will <br /> generally consist of additional overexcavation of the tank pits, additional <br /> dewatering of the tank pits, and collection of new sidewall and bottom <br /> soil samples and groundwater samples <br /> After removing the two USTs at the site, ERM collected sidewall soil <br /> samples and groundwater samples from each excavation This work was <br /> conducted under the direction of San Joaquin County Public Health <br /> Services, Environmental Health Division (County) After reviewing the <br /> analytical data on the soil and groundwater samples from the UST <br /> excavations with the County and with Heinz, Heinz agreed to conduct <br /> additional remedial and investigative measures to gain acceptance for <br /> closure of these two USTs <br /> ERM will sawcut and remove concrete adjacent to the existing excavation <br /> for UST#1 Approximately 3,000 gallons of groundwater will be pumped <br /> from the excavation ERM will overexcavate an additional three feet <br /> laterally on the north, east and west sides of the excavation In addition, <br /> a small pit near the center of the excavation will be dug to a total depth <br /> of ten feet below ground surface to permit collection of a bottom soil <br /> sample <br /> ERM will collect three new sidewall soil samples, one bottom soil <br /> sample, and one new groundwater sample from the excavation for <br />
