(AGE)
on your behalf for the above-referenced site. The work plan proposes installation of two
groundwater monitoring wells; installation of three ozone sparging points; and advancement of one
cone penetration testing (CPT) boring and associated adjacent borings for soil and groundwater
sample collection.
By letter dated August 13, 2007, EHD approved the installation of proposed monitoring well MW-8
to be located approximately twenty-five feet south of MW-1 and approximately thirty feet southeast
of MW-2. The well will be screened between approximately 30 and 50 feet below ground surface
(bgs)-
EHD
bgs)-EHD approves the installation of proposed monitoring well MW-9 to be located approximately
twenty feet southeast of MW-1 and approximately eight feet northeast of MW-8. The well will be
screened between approximately 60 and 65 feet bgs. During the installation of MW-8 and MW-9,
soil samples will be collected at five-foot intervals and selected soil samples will be analyzed for
total petroleum hydrocarbons quantified as gasoline (TPH-g); benzene, toluene, ethyl benzene, and
total xylenes (BTEX); di-isopropyl ether(DIPE), ethyl tertiary-butyl ether(ETBE), methyl tertiary-
butyI ether (MTBE), tertiary-amyl methyl ether (TAME), tertiary butyl alcohol (TBA), 1,2-
dicbloroethane(1,2-DCA), 1,2-dibromoethane (EDB),methanol and ethanol.
EHD approves advancement of the proposed CPT boring to total depth of approximately 175 feet
bgs "for the purposes of characterizing lithology, modeling potential contaminant migration
pathways, and assessing the vertical extent of hydrocarbon-impacted groundwater"; however, EHD
recommends this CPT boring be relocated approximately twelve feet south of the currently
proposed location. The general groundwater flow direction has tended to be toward the
east/southeast and EHD believes the recommended location is more likely to be situated down-
gradient of the most impacted monitoring well, MW-2. The CPT boring will provide a continuous
