it <br /> 2 0 SCOPE OF WORK <br /> The objectives of this phase of environmental corrective action were to <br /> • Continue to monitor the plume of impacted groundwater at the water table, <br /> Further define the stratigraphy of groundwater-bearing soils beneath the water table, and <br /> Evaluate the vertical extent of impacted groundwater <br /> ' To achieve these project objectives, Ramage Environmental <br /> • Monitored and sampled groundwater table monitoring well network, and <br /> ' • Supervised the drilling of two CPT borings and collecting of discrete groundwater samples <br /> from permeable intervals beneath the water table <br /> r21 Planning and Permitting <br /> Prior to initiating fieldwork, a site-specific health and safety plan addendum was prepared <br /> according to 29 CFR 1910 120 The health and safety plan included safety procedures, chemical <br /> hazard information, site safety officers, and preferred medical emergency locations <br /> To perform the required work, drilling permits were obtained from PHS/EHD Since one of the <br /> borings was drilled on the San Joaquin County Fairgrounds, an access agreement was obtained <br /> from 2"d District Agricultural Association, San Joaquin County Fair Copies of the approved <br /> permits and access agreement are included in Appendix A <br /> As required by the permits, PHSIEHD and the San Joaquin County Fair were notified to schedule <br /> inspections Underground Service Alert (USA) was also notified so that member utilities could <br /> mark their underground facilities, under USA Ticket#48608 <br /> 22 Groundwater Monitoring, Sampling and Analysis <br />' On January 31, 2002, Ramage Environmental monitored and sampled groundwater from the <br /> seven groundwater table monitoring wells Upon arrival at the site, each of the wellheads was <br /> r inspected, unlocked and opened Depth-to-groundwater was measured in each of the wells using <br /> a water level indicator capable of measuring groundwater to within 0 01 foot <br /> r <br /> 9 <br /> 1 <br /> r <br />
