INTRODUCTION `
At the ,request of Mrs Winfred Alexander, executor of Mary Gardella Trust, Advanced
' GeoEnvfronmentaI, Inc (AGE) has prepared this quarterly report for the property located at 1419
East Charter Way, Stockton, California (site) The objective of the work was to monitor dissolved
petroleum hydrocarbon concentrations in ground water and to characterize ground water elevation,
' flow direction, and hydraulic gradient on-site The site and the surrounding area are illustrated on
Figure 1 On-site structures and monitoring well locations are illustrated on Figure 2
,
n 2.0 PROCEDURES,
' Field procedures were performed in accordance with Central Valley Regional Water Quality Control
Board(CVRWQCB)and San Joaquin County Environmental Health Department(EHD)guidelines
' for investigating underground storage tank(UST)sites and sampling ground water monitoring wells
' 2 1 WELL MONITORING AND EVACUATION
On 31 August 2004, ground water monitoring and sampling were performed on monitoring wells
MW-1 through MW-7 Prior to sampling, the depth to ground water was measured from the top of
each well casing to the nearest 0 01-foot utilizing a Solmst water level meter The ground water
elevation in each well was calculated by subtracting the measured depth to ground water from the
' surveyed casing elevation (Table 1)
After water levels were measured, each monitoring well was purged of standing water utilizing a
' new, disposable plastic bailer Approximatelyl. 75 to 3 gallons of water(a minimum of three casing-
water volumes)were removed from each well Groundwater temperature,pH,and conductivity were
measured at regular intervals during purging using an Oakton water analyzer Field sheets and data
' are included in Appendix A Purged water was stored on-site in appropriately labeled, 55-gallon
s Department of Transportation (DOT)-approved drums pending proper disposal µ
1
22 COLLECTION OF GROUND WATER SAMPLES
Water samples we're collected from the purged wells using new, disposable plastic bailers after
allowing the wells to achieve a minimum 80%recovery of the pre-purge water volume Each water
I sample was transferred into four 40-milliliter(ml)volatile organic analysis(VOA)vials containing
0 5 ml 18%hydrochloric acid solution as a sample preservative After collection, the samples were
Advanced GeoEnVLronmental, Inc
