IL
r
i • 173 May 2004 ,
AGE-NC Project No 03-1100
iPage 2 of 4
i hydrochloric acid as a sample preservative After collection, the samples were properly labeled,
placed in a chilled container and transported under chain-of-custody to Cal Tech Environmental
Laboratories, Inc (CTEL) for analysis The samples were analyzed for
i
• Total petroleum hydrocarbons quantified as gasoline (TPH-g) In accordance with EPA
x
Method 8015-modified,
• Benzene,toluene,ethylbenzene and xylenes(BTEX)In accordance with EPA Method 8260B
and
• Fuel oxygenates methyl tertiary-butyl ether (MTBE), di-isopropyl ether (DIPE), ethyl
tertiary-butyl ether(ETBE),tertiary-amyl methyl ether(TAME),and tertiary butanol(TBA)
in accordance with EPA Method 8260B u
I -
3.0. FINDINGS
Ground water elevation, flow direction and gradient were determined from field data collected on
' 03 March 2004 The contaminant impact to ground watcr was quantified by the laboratory analytical
data
3 1 GROUND WATER GRADIENT AND FLOW DIRECTION
' At the time of the March 2004 sampling event, depths to ground water ranged from 42 53 feet to
43 99 feet below the tops of the well casings During this monitoring event, the ground water level
in the wells was approximately 12 53 to 13 99 feet below the tops of the well screens, indicating that
' the wells are screened properly and yield representative shallow ground water samples
Ground water elevations at the site ranged from 23 07 feet below mean sea level (MSL) in well
' MW-7 to 24 17 feet below MSL in well MW-2 (Table 1) The relative ground water elevation at the
site decreased an average of 0 64 feet between the December 2003 and March 2004 monitoring ^
events _ J
Wells MW-1 through MW-7 were used to Infer ground water flow direction and gradient The
ground water flow direction was inferred to be flowing inwards towards an elongated depression in
the former UST location The hydraulic gradient averaged 0 03 feet/feet or less Figure 3 illustrates
the contoured ground water elevations as measured on 03 March 2004
Advanced GeoEnvrronmental,Inc
1 '
r
