Letter Addendum-Workplan for the Installation of ISCO Injection Points
1501 West Charter Way, Stockton, CA
laboratory analysis. This should allow for a representative cross-section of the heaviest
contaminated soil beneath the former UST location. The brass tubes will be sealed with Teflon®
tape, capped, uniquely labeled, and stored in an ice chest refrigerated to a temperature of
approximately 4° C for shipment under chain of custody protocol.
Neat cement grout will be pumped into the boring through a tremie pipe system in one continuous
operation until the boring is completely full. All drill cuttings will be temporarily stored in properly
labeled DOT approved steel drums until disposal can be arranged. A soil boring permit and
associated fees will be submitted to SJCEHD upon approval of this workplan addendum.
To collect a representative groundwater sample for the BST, GZA personnel will purge three
volumes from monitoring well MW3, allow the water column to return to pre-purge levels, and
collect groundwater in eight unpreserved 1-Litre amber bottles. The bottles will be filled
minimizing headspace, uniquely labeled and stored in an ice chest refrigerated to a temperature of
approximately 4° C for shipment under chain of custody protocol.
Groundwater and selected soil samples will be submitted to Prima Environmental (Prima) of
Sacramento, California. Prima will perform a bench scale evaluation of RegenOxTM for use in in-
situ chemical oxidation of petroleum hydrocarbons. Prima will also evaluate the secondary effects
such as oxidation of soil-bound chromium to CR (VI), oxidation of naturally occurring bromide to
bromate, or mobilization of metals.
The results will be sent to the RWQCB and EHD for review and comments. Prima's proposal for
bench scale evaluation is included with this letter addendum as Attachment A. Prima's proposal
was approved by the RWQCB by email dated December 27, 2007. If it is determined that the use
of RegenOxTM is appropriate for the Site, the September 2007 Workplan will be revised to
address RWQCB and SJCEHD comments and directives.
Please feel free to call GZA at (209) 838-9888 if you have any questions regarding this submittal.
Respectfully,
Ground Zero Analysis Inc. pVOA AL 6F01
 O
IL EM LEE PRICE v4
Eric L.
