r Mr Michael Infurna Page 3 Conclusions Groundwater flow has remained in a northeasterly direction for the past two consecutive quarters, which has established well MW 1 as the downgradient well Analytical evidence indicates that 1,2 DCA and EDB are not present at the site, and no target analytes have been detected in either well MW1 or MW2 since sampling began Analytical results from previous quarterly events in well MW3 have shown a general reduction in contaminant concentrations as the water level at the site rose, and an increase in concentrations as the water level fell During this event water levels at the site rose and concentrations of TPHd and TPHg decreased A general trend of decreasing contaminant concentrations over the last year is apparent in well MW3 Recommendations The data suggest that groundwater contamination in the vicinity of well MW3 is very localized and encompasses an area of less than 5,000 ft2 Ground Zero recommends continued monitoring to further evaluate groundwater flow direction, as well as exploring methods to enhance the contaminant degradation process We also recommend discontinuing groundwater sampling for 1,2-DCA and EDB, as these chemicals have never been detected at the site The next round of groundwater sampling is scheduled for May 2002 You will be provided with a minimum of 48 hours notice prior to conducting fieldwork If you have any questions or comments please contact Ground Zero at your convenience Respectfully, Grou d Zero An sis, Inc �E p G� Se Garvey, °��` OZ0 Staff Geologist �� G;.- � GRI=GARY P.
