S <br /> q ry <br /> Mr NLchael lnfurna <br /> Page 3 of 7 <br /> On June 30, 1999, the excavation was extended to the north in the area of residual contamination <br /> Approximately 50 cubic yards of soil was removed Excavation proceeded laterally and vertically in <br /> this area until hydrocarbon odor was lacking and FID readings were srnrnrnal Confirmation samples <br /> were then collected at the depths of 18 and 20 feet below grade <br /> Other than low levels of MTBE, no petroleum hydrocarbon analytes were detected in the confirmation <br /> samples Analytical results for all excavation soil samples are summarized in Table 1 Analytical <br /> results of groundwater samples are summarized in Table 2 The excavated area is depicted on Figure <br /> 3 <br /> Between April 15 and July 7, 1999 a total of 414 cubic yards of contaminated soil generated <br /> during the UST removal and excavation activities was transported to Forward Landfill for <br /> disposal <br /> On July 7, 1999 approximately 7,000 gallons of contaminated groundwater was pumped from the <br /> excavation pit by D A Parrish and Sons Pumping Service The water was transported to the Stockton <br /> Wastewater Disposal Facility for disposal under City of Stockton permit <br /> Hydrogeological Setting <br /> The site is located in southwestern Stockton approximately 6,500 feet south of the Stockton <br /> Deepwater Channel, the nearest body of surface water Surface elevation at the site is approximately <br /> five feet above sea level <br /> Groundwater quality in the site vicinity is poor The subject property is located within the plume of <br /> saline groundwater encroaching from the delta area to the west The nearest monitored production <br /> wells, located approximately 4,000 feet northeast of the site, contain chloride and total dissolved solids <br /> in excess of MCL's <br /> i <br /> Based on historical information provided by San Joaquin County Flood Control and Water <br /> Conservation District, groundwater beneath the site is expected to flow in a northeasterly direction <br /> Depth to groundwater at the site is approximately 15-18 feet below grade <br /> PROCEDURES <br /> Permitting <br /> Prior to initiating fieldwork, well installation permits were obtained from San Joaquin County <br /> PHS/EHD All fieldwork was performed in accordance with the Ground Zero's Site Safety Plan and <br /> Quality Assurance/Quality Control Plan <br />,0 <br /> WooInydmdceTgxn s summary doc <br />
