SITE BACKGROUND
The Bolt Brothers Tractor Company facility is a farm equipment dealtirship. Activities
conducted at this facility include the maintenance and repair of farm equir-ment. Nine
underground fuel storage tanks are also included within this facility.
,. Duriug May 1988 the nine underground fuel storage tanks were removed from the ground.
1 During excavation of the tanks, evidence of leakage from the tanks and soil staining by
hydrocarbons was reportedly observed. Although the individual capacities of the nine tanks is
i presently not known by Dames&Moore,we have been informed that soil staining was observed
y to a depth of 15 feet below the land surface. Based on our conversations with a L owledges.ble
well drilling contractor,ve have assumed the ground water table will be encountered at a depth
of approximately 25 feet below land surface in the vicinity of the former tank farm.
1
o- Iv.
