This respim.ory protection is to be used in areas where 3anic vapor concentrations <br /> exceed 5.0 ppm in the breathing zone of workers. Vapor monitoring is to be conducted in the <br /> t: breatHng zone of Dames&Moore Personnel near the drilling and sampling activities using a TLV <br /> V <br /> sniffer or OVA. If breathing zone concentrations;are below 5.0 ppm,then respiratory prottVion <br /> is not necessary but mo,--;torins every 15 minutes is necessary. <br /> If vapor levels aa-7-between 5.0 and 50 ppm,then the above,Mentioned respiratory <br /> i is to be used. If vapor levels above 50 protection <br /> ppm are detected, then work is to be stopped and the <br /> RHSM contacted. If soil is dry and easily dispersible in the air,then resp!.at.ry protection must <br /> t be worn to prevent inhalation and ingestion of contaminated soil. <br /> Personnel outside the work area and not involved in these activities and where organ;c vapor <br /> concentratiore are less than 5.0 ppm, must wear safety glasses ur goggles and a hard hat at a <br /> minimum.
