(GeoAudit) has <br /> prepared this quarterly monitoring and reporting program for the <br /> property located at 16 South Cherokee Lane, Lodi , California (the <br /> This <br /> specified by program <br /> suggested aalternatives an <br /> CentralValley RegionalWater Quality Control <br /> Board (CVRWQCB) . <br /> A total of 13 monitoring wells and one extraction well are located <br /> on or near the site. The CVRWQCB has specified that all wells on <br /> the property be monitored on a quarterly basis. GeoAudit does not <br /> feel that it is necessary to monitor all 14 wells on a quarterly <br /> basis to characterize the distribution of contamination. A review <br /> of the history of the site indicates that the greatest <br /> concentration of soil and groundwater contamination is located on <br /> the property. In the past, not all wells on the property have been <br /> monitored on a regular basis. GeoAudit believes that monitoring the <br /> wells on the periphery of the site should provide more useful data <br /> and assist in identifying the lateral extent of the contamination <br /> plume. Therefore, GeoAudit proposes that a total of 7 wells be <br /> monitored on a quarterly basis: EW-1, MW-2 , MW-6, MW-7 , MW-9 , MW-1O <br /> and MW-13 . <br /> Monitoring wells 1, 3 , 4 , 5 will not be monitored because these <br /> wells are all located at or near the center of the contamination <br /> plume. These wells have consistently shown moderate to high levels <br /> of contamination and monitoring on a constant basis would probably <br /> not provide any additional useful data. MW-7 and MW-8 are in close <br /> proximity to each other, so we propose to monitor only one of these <br /> two (MW-7) . MW-11 and MW-12 have not shown any detectable <br /> contamination in more than one year and may be located beyond the <br /> down-gradient extent of the contamination plume. Therefore, we do <br /> not recommend that these wells be monitored. <br /> It should also be noted that in a review of the Problem Assessment <br /> Report prepared by PES Environmental, Inc.
