The Workplan proposes
destruction of the existing twenty two monitoring wells (MW-1 through MW-22), seven soil
vapor wells (VW-1 through VW-7), six ozone sparge wells (OW-1 R through OW-6), and one
groundwater extraction well (EW-1) under San Joaquin County Environmental Health
Department (SJCEHD) well destruction permits. Five of the monitoring wells will be over-
drilled and the borings grouted up; the remaining wells will be pressure grouted. All well
grouting will be inspected by SJCEHD, and the wells destruction will be done in accordance
with the San Joaquin County Standards for Well Construction and Destruction. All associated
underground piping, wiring, and remediation equipment will be removed, soil will be used to
backfill the excavation trenches, and the surface repaired with either soil, asphalt or concrete
as appropriate, to restore both onsite and offsite well locations to pre-existing conditions.
The Workplan is approved as submitted. Please provide a letter report within thirty days of
completion of fieldwork. Include documentation of disposal at a proper disposal facility of any
investigative derived waste (contaminated soil cuttings) generated during the work. Also,
provide SJCEHD and myself at least three working days notice, prior to start of fieldwork.
If you have any questions, you may contact me at (916) 464-4615 or by e-mail at the following
address: jbarton@waterboards.ca.gov.
GAMES L.L.
