(AGE). The Report provides the results of routine quarterly groundwater
monitoring conducted 30 March 2009. The offsite monitoring well MW-9 sample result was petroleum
hydrocarbons as gasoline (TPHg) at 2,400 micrograms per Liter. The Report recommends sampling
MW-8, MW-9 and MW-14 during the second quarter of 2009, and preparation of a closure report.
Comments: Contaminant concentrations have not rebounded after shutdown of the ozone injection
groundwater treatment system in December 2008. Please prepare a closure report for submittal with
the next monitoring report due 30 July 2009. Evaluate threats from vapor intrusion from residual
contamination. Estimate the remaining petroleum hydrocarbon mass versus the mass treated and the
time required for groundwater to reach Water Quality Objectives, based on the current trends. Upon
receipt and review of the report, staff may suspend monitoring while evaluating Site closure.
Also by 15 May 2009, submit by email to me, a list of all property owners, tenants and addresses within
200' of the Site, and a one page draft fact sheet.(Microsoft Word) also listing my contact information for
receipt of public comments.
Upon my approval, you will initiate the 30-day public comment period and send me a paper copy of the
notice. Add 3 days to the due date for public comments in the notice, to allow receipt of the notice by
US mail.
If you have any questions you may contact me at (916) 464-4615 or by email at
jbarton@waterbo//ards.ca.gov.
ames L.
