Revised Monitoring and Reporting - 2 _ • `
12 October 1994
16 South Cherokee Lane, Lodi {
1
shown contamination, and may be considered a control well (as is MW2). MW12 is n
downgradient and contaminated; it has not yet been demonstrated that the bacteria will migrate •
downgradient. MW7 is contaminated and cross gradient; it has not been demonstrated that the
bacteria will move cross gradient. MW 8, MW9, MWll, MW14, and EWl were inoculated and
chosen as representative of the contaminated zone.
Nitrogen monitoring was left off your vapor monitoring table. However, the text on page 4 of
your report indicates that you intend to sample for it. Also, regarding methane and nitrogen
monitoring, we chose inoculated monitoring wells, two dry and one containing water, because
more environmental conditions were encountered in monitoring wells than vapor wells. You
provided no explanation for recommending that vapor wells be used rather than the monitoring
wells we suggested.
We require that the genera of the bacteria in soil and ground water samples be provided. We are
able to accommodate concerns regarding proprietary information.
Additional comments will be accepted up to 31 October 1994. We intend to issue the final
RMRP by early November 1994. If you have any questions, call me at (916) 255-3133.
LI H A.
