REVISED MONITORING AND REPORTING PROGRAM NO. 93-701 - 2 -
GEWEKE LAND DEVELOPMENT AND MARKETING
SAN JOAQUIN COUNTY
CO2
BOD
Annual sampling events will occur during the first calendar quarter. If any well is dry
during the normally scheduled annual sampling event, then ground water will be collected for
analysis during the following quarter sampling event when ground water is present.
All constituents and peaks are to be reported.
If no constituents are detected in the first two sample analyses for lead and
ethylenedibromide, these analyses may be deleted from the monitoring program, at the
discretion of the Board.
SOIL GAS/VAPOR MONITORING
The existing soil gas/vapor monitoring network consists of the ground water monitoring
network listed above and seven vapor wells, VWl through VW7. Gases and vapors shall be
monitored in all existing ground water monitoring, injection, and/or extraction wells and all
air/vapor monitoring, injection, and/or extraction wells. Failure to detect gases/vapors,
which indicate bacterial growth, in the outlying monitoring points (existing wells EWI,
MW2, MW6, MW7, MW8, MW9, MW10, MWII, MW12, and MW13) will initiate
construction of new vapor monitoring points. The new monitoring points will be located
between points of vapor/gas detection and points where no vapors/gases are detected. After
construction, all new wells and monitoring points will be included in the monitoring
program.
Gas/vapor samples will be collected from at least one point that is not used to inject air or
bacteria into the subsurface and is near the source of the contamination. Samples will be
collected twice monthly for the first six months following inoculation of the bacterial
consortia, monthly for the subsequent six months, and thereafter as follows:
Sampling Analytical
Constituents Units Tyne of Sample Frequency Method
Oxygen Gas (02) % Summa Cannister/Tedlar Bag Quarterly ASTM D-3416
Carbon Dioxide (CO2) % Summa Cannister/Tedlar Bag Quarterly ASTM D-3416
Methane (CH4) % Summa Cannister/Tedlar Bag Quarterly ASTM D-3416
Nitrogen Gas (NZ) % Summa Cannister/Tedlar Bag Quarterly ASTM D-3416
Hydrocarbon Vapors mg/cucm Summa Cannister/Tedlar Bag Quarterly EPA TO-14
