REVISED MONITORING AND REPORTING PROGRAM NO. 93-701 - 3 - <br /> GEWEKE LAND DEVELOPMENT AND MARKETING <br /> SAN JOAQUIN COUNTY <br /> Between bacterial inoculation points, soil and ground water will be tested for gases/vapors and/or soil samples <br /> will be collected and analyzed. Cone penetrometer technology may be used to replace permanent gas/vapor <br /> wells and soil borings where applicable. <br /> SOIL SAMPLING <br /> A minimum of two soil borings will be drilled quarterly. The two initial borings will be <br /> drilled in the vicinity of VW4, in the same quarter following inoculation with the bacterial <br /> consortia. The second quarter following inoculation, two borings will be drilled in the <br /> vicinity of VW5 and VW6. Drilling will continue quarterly in a spiral pattern with borings <br /> being drilled progressively farther from the center. After the second quarter, the locations of <br /> the borings must be discussed with Regional Board staff. <br /> Borings will be drilled with a hollow-stem auger drill rig. Drilling will consist of continuous <br /> coring with continuous detailed logs of the geological strata. Coring will extend to the <br /> surface of the water table. Samples will be collected in both coarse and fine grained <br /> materials with particular care to collect samples in fine-grained material near the top of any <br /> fine/coarse-grained interfaces.
