ZPES Environmeo, Inc. • Engineering & Environmental Services May 2, 1991 � y MAY 7 ENVIRONMENTAL HEALTH GEOOIB PERMIT/SERVICES California Regional Water Quality Control Board Central Valley Region 3443 Routier Road, Suite A Sacramento, California 95827-3098 Attention: Mr. James Maughan REQUEST FOR EXTENSION FOR PROBLEM ASSESSMENT REPORT SUBMITTAL GEWEKE FORD 16 SOUTH CHEROKEE LANE LODI, CALIFORNIA Dear Mr. Maughan; We are writing on behalf of Geweke Land Development and Marketing, in response to the California Regional Water Quality Control Board, Central Valley Region's (RWQCB's) request that a Problem Assessment Report (PAR) be submitted by May 31, 1991 for the Geweke Ford site at 16 South Cherokee Lane, Lodi, California. The Regional Board Staff Recommendations For Initial Evaluation And Investigation Of Underground Tanks (June 2, 1988) states that the PAR should include the defined extent of soil and groundwater contamination, pumping test results, and a preliminary evaluation and cost analysis of the available remedial technologies. As you know, the lateral extent of groundwater contamination is not defined at this site and a workplan for this work was submitted February 12, 1991. The San Joaquin Environmental Health Division gave written approval to proceed with the workplan on April 25, 1991. We are proceeding as quickly as possible and believe we can complete most, if not all, of the field work by the end of May. We anticipate that it will take an additional six to eight weeks to perform the chemical analyses, analyze the aquifer test, perform the technology evaluation, and prepare a PAR report.
