Maughan 1119
_
Subject : Work PlanL',,`'
Groundwater Characterization and
Remediation Program
16 South Cherokee Lane
Lodi , California
Dear Mr. Maughan:
Enclosed is a copy of the above referenced work plan
prepared by PES Environmental, inc . (PES) on behalf of Geweke
Land Development and Marketing (GLDM) . This work plan has
been prepared and Submitted in accordance with your January
15 , 1991 letter to GLDM.
As detailed in the enclosed work plan, five tasks are
proposed to further assess the lateral extent of petroleum
hydrocarbon-affected groundwater and to provide information
necessary for selecting and designing a groundwater
remediation system. These tasks are : ( 1) collect, tabulate
and reveiw existing data, ( 2) obtain permits and access
agreements and prepare necessary plans , (3 ) install four
additional monitoring wells and one groundwater extraction
well, collect and analyze soil and groundwater samples and
perform an aquifer test on the extraction well, (4) eva%Aluate
groundwater remediation alternatives and (5) interpret data,
preliminarily design interim groundwater remediation ystem,
and prepare report. I believe that this is a prudent
approach to assessing the nature of the groundwater
contamination and to designing an interim groundwater
remediation system.
Within eighteen. weeks of receiving your approval to proceed
with the proposed tasks and barring any unforeseen delays , a
report will be submitted to you summarizing the results of
the field investigation and proposing an interim groundwater
remediation system.
