Box 2009
Stockton, CA 95202
REVIEW OF REVISED WORK PLAN FOR GEWEKE FORD (C&A NO. 90-702) - 16 SOUTH
CHEROKEE LANE - LODI, SAN JOAQUIN COUNTY
Below are staff comments for the Geweke Land Development and Marketing
proposal of 13 February 1991 to be incorporated with your correspondence.
The work plan submitted was in response to a letter we sent on
15 January 1991. In the letter we requested a time schedule to complete the
work plan be submitted in October 1990, and that plans for the proposed
interim extraction system be submitted by 15 February 1991. Geweke dropped
the interim extraction system from consideration at this time, stating that
four more wells will be installed and then the data collected will be
evaluated. They estimate that it will take eight weeks to complete the work
from the time they receive approval from the Regional Board.
We have a couple of problems with their plan:
1. The location of the four new wells is not specified in the work plan.
2. Geweke is not in compliance with their C&A which required that a Problem
Assessment Report (PAR) be submitted by 25 May 1990. Although the work
plan submitted by Geweke is to define the full extent of the problems at
the site, no date was specified when the PAR would be submitted.
We request that Geweke proceed with the work plan, but submit the location
for the new monitoring wells for approval and a time schedule with the 10
completion date for the PAR to be submitted. However, we recommend that the
PAR be submitted no later then 31 May 1991.
If you have any questions, please call me at (916) 361-5723.
JAMES B. MAUGHAN
Water Resource Control Engineer
JBM:jbm
