FIELD PROCEDURES
All field procedures will be overseen by an AGE representative under the supervision of a California
Registered Geologist Procedures for the advancement of soil borings, soil sampling, ground water
sampling, monitoring well installation and development and equipment decontamination
41 SOIL SAMPLING
• The proposed monitoring well boring will be advanced using hollow-stem auger drilling techniques
Relatively undisturbed soil samples will be collected continuously, beginning at 50 feet bsg at the
off-site well cluster and 70 feet bsg at the on-site well cluster, and extending to the total depth of the
deepest boring in each well cluster utilizing a five-foot core barrel Soils encountered in the borings
will be field screened for the presence of organic vapors using an organic vapor meter(OVM) and
visually classified by an AGE geologist in accordance with the Unified Soil Classification System
(USCS)
Soil cuttings will be containerized in properly labeled DOT-approved model 17H 55-gallon drums
and stored on-site Disposal alternatives will be evaluated at a later date based on laboratory results
of the soil samples
4 2 MONITORING WELL INSTALLATION
Following completion of drilling the borings, 2-inch diameter Schedule 40 PVC 0 020-inch slotted
well screens and casings will be Installed For the well cluster in the area of well MW-8
• One boring with a 5-foot well screen installed from 75 feet bsg to 80 feet bsg, and
• One boring with a 5-foot well screen installed from 112 feet bsg to 117 feet bsg
Advanced Geo Environmental,Inc
