bIii <br /> • 15 December 2003 <br /> AGE-NC Project No 95-0109 <br /> Page 3 of 6 <br /> The installation of additional monitoring wells is proposed for the site, as presented in AGE's <br /> Additional Monitoring Well Installation Work Plan, dated 28 November 2003 During the <br /> Installation of the proposed on.-site monitoring well,AGE will collect soil and,if necessary,ground <br /> water samples from the pilot boring These samples will be submitted to a DHS-certified laboratory <br /> for analysis of iron content <br /> 3 1 PERMITTING AND PRE-FIELD WORK ACTIVITIES <br /> Applicable site assessment permits will be submitted to the San Joaquin County Environmental <br /> Health Department (EHD) and a health and safety plan will be prepared in accordance with <br /> Occupational Safety and Health Guidance Manual for Hazardous Waste Site Activities (National <br /> Institute for Occupational Safety and Health Administration, U S Coast Guard and U S <br /> Environmental Protection Agency, 1985) Prior to drilling activities,each proposed drilling location <br /> will be clearly marked and a utility clearance obtained through Underground Service Alert <br /> 3 2 OZONE INJECTION WELL INSTALLATION <br /> Based on concentrations of benzene and other petroleum hydrocarbons in the area of MW-14 and <br /> the former dispenser island, AGE proposes installation of ozone injection wells in the following <br /> areas <br /> • Approximately 30 feet east of well MW-4, <br /> • Approximately 20 feet west of well MW-4, and <br /> • Approximately 30 feet south of well MW-4 <br /> The proposed ozone injection wells will be screened through the water table and ground water, into <br /> areas of known petroleum-impacted ground water Proposed well locations are depicted in Figure 2 <br /> 33 IN-SITU OZONE SPARGING PILOT TEST <br /> Following installation of ozone Injection wells, a 24-week (6 months) in-situ ozone sparge (IOS) <br /> pilot study is proposed at the site, the results of the IOS pilot test will provide data to calculate an <br /> effective radius of influence and determine the feasibility of IOS as a remediation alternative <br /> Procedures for the IOS pilot test are presented in Section 4 6 <br /> Advanced GeoEnvironmental,Inc <br />
