a <br /> 28 November 2003 <br /> AGE-NC Project No 95-0109 <br /> Page 3 of 7 <br /> • Permitting and pre-field work preparations, <br /> • Monitoring well installation and sampling, <br /> • Well development and elevation survey, y <br /> • Well monitoring and sampling, and <br /> • Report preparation <br /> Each of these tasks is described in greater detail below <br /> 3 1 PRE-FIELD WORK PREPARATIONS <br /> A health and safety plan will be updated in accordance with Occupational Safety and Health <br /> Guidance Manual for Hazardous Waste Site Activities (National Institute for Occupational Safety <br /> and Health Administration, U S_Coast Guard and U S Environmental Protection Agency, 1985) <br /> Prior to mobilization, the bonng and monitoring well locations will be clearly marked and a utility <br /> clearance obtained through Underground Service Alert <br /> 3 2 MONITORING WELL PILOT BORING ADVANCEMENT AND SAMPLING <br /> AGE proposes to initially install two additional ground water monitoring wells to define the lateral <br /> extent of 1,2-DCA-impacted ground water The proposed ground water monitoring well bonngs will <br /> be advanced to approximately 70 feet bsg utilizing a truck-mounted,hollow stem drill ng equipped <br /> with 8-inch diameter hollow-stem augers Total depths of bonngs may vary according to <br /> hydrogeolo gic/geo logic conditions encountered during drilling Soil samples will be collected at <br /> 5-foot intervals beginning ing at 5 feet bsg and extending to the total depth of the boring <br /> Soil samples will be collected for lithologic evaluation only However,if field screening of samples <br /> indicate the presence of soil contamination, selected samples maybe submitted to a laboratory for <br /> analysis ` <br /> 3 3 WELL COMPLETION, DEVELOPMENT AND SURVEY <br /> Following installation, each well will be developed to maximize water flow and mimnuze the <br /> amount of fine-grained sediment drawn into the well during pumping or bailing After development, <br /> the top of the well casing(well head)will be surveyed to determine its elevation relative to mean sea <br /> Advanced GeoEnvxronmental,Inc <br />
