Advanced
GeoEnvironmental, Inc .
02 January 2015
AGE Project No. 14-3298
Mr. Johnny Yoakum
San Joaquin County Environmental Health Department
1868 East Hazelton Avenue
Stockton, CA 95205
Subject: Phase II Site Assessment Work Plan
RAWLINSON-READE PROPERTY
140 West Harding Way, Stockton, California
Dear Mr. Yoakum:
At the request of Mr. Farouk Diab, Advanced GeoEnvironmental, Inc. (AGE) has
prepared this Phase 11 Site Assessment Work Plan for the site located at 140 West
Harding Way, Stockton, California (site). The work plan provides procedures for the
collection of soil-vapor samples at the subject site. A site plan depicting the proposed
boring locations is illustrated in Figure 1.
INTRODUCTION
The subject property was originally developed in 1932 as a Shell branded gasoline
station and remained a Shell station until 1961. From 1961 through 1972, the site was
operated as an Enco Service station. In 1973 the site operated as an Exxon branded
gasoline station. From 1987 through January 1991, the property was operated as a
sandwich shop called The Yellow Submarine.
In February 1974, Stockton Fire Department records indicated that four (4) underground
tanks were removed from the site, which consisted of one 4,000-gallon fuel tank, two
3,000-gallon fuel tanks and one 550-gallon waste oil tank.
During the tank removals soil was excavated to a depth of 15 feet below surface grade
(bsg). Samples collected during the excavation indicated that waste oil range
hydrocarbon impact was present at the site.
Several investigations, including installation and sampling of monitoring wells have been
historically conducted at the site. Analytical results from these investigations indicated
837 Shaw Road• Stockton,CA 95215
Telephone(209)467-1006• Fax(209)467-1118
