April 22, 1987 AGS 8691-6
Beacon Service Station #1-502 - Lodi, California
CONCLUSIONS
The results of laboratory analyses indicate that the levels of
contamination are significantly lower in MW-5 than in MW-1, MW-2,
or MW-4, which were installed nearer to the tank cavity at the
site. The hydrocarbon concentrations detected in MW-5 are below
action levels established by the California Department of Health
Services except for benzene. Ground water flow is oriented to
the south southwest, or toward MW-5 from the area below the tank
cavity. We interpret the results of chemical analyses to
indicate that dissolved contaminant migration has been limited,
and probably does not extend far beyond the limits of the site to
the south.
RECOMMENDATIONS
Hydrocarbon contamination is present at the site in the soil
below the tank cavity and above the ground water surface and as
dissolved constituents of ground water at the site. The levels
of contaminants detected decrease significantly with distance
from the area below the tank cavity.
11
.4,00;ed GeoSystems
