November 7, 1986 AGS 8691-3
Beacon Service Station #1-502 - Lodi, California
iced storage. A Chain-of-Custody form was initiated by the
sampler and accompanied the sample to the analytical laboratory.
A copy of the completed Chain-of-Custody is included in the
Appendix of this report.
LABORATORY ANALYSES
Water and soil samples selected for testing were delivered to
Applied GeoSystems' laboratory, which is certified by the state
of California for the types of analyses performed. Soil and
water samples selected for testing were analyzed for total
extractable hydrocarbons (THCE) , total volatile hydrocarbons
(THCV) , and volatile hydrocarbon constituents (benzene,
ethylbenzene, toluene, and xylene - BETX) .
Soil samples were analyzed for volatile hydrocarbons using EPA
method 8020, which was facilitated through solvent extraction as
described in EPA method 5030. Soil samples were also analyzed
for extractable hydrocarbons using EPA method 3550 for
extraction. All analyses were performed according to guidelines
established by the California Regional Water Quality Control
Board utilizing gas chromatography and photo- and flame-
ionization detection. Results of soil analyses are listed in
Table 2.
7
.4,00/ied GeoSystems
