November 7, 1986 AGS 8691-3
Beacon Service Station #1-502 - Lodi, California
This is in contrast to the low levels of volatile components from
samples taken in the previous investigation (see Table 1) . The
soil samples collected from the tank pit were interpreted to be
contaminated with diesel fuel, and the high THCV values are
thought to represent overlap between the two different methods
used to analyze the soil samples.
DETERMINATION OF GROUND WATER GRADIENT
A determination of the ground water gradient across the site was
made through the use of a David White Meridian model 8820
construction level. The instrument was used to measure the
differences in elevation between the instrument and the top of
the casing for each of the monitoring wells. Measurements were
recorded to the nearest sixteenth of an inch ( 0.005 foot) ,
although the accuracy of the instrument is limited to 0.02 feet
over the maximum distance required (approximately 75 feet) .
The elevation differences were combined with measurements of the
static water levels in the respective wells to calculate the
water level elevation differences (Table 4) .
10
App/leo' GeoSystems
