Vieira Ranch March 31,2003
. Authorization to Complete Environmental Drilling
And Monitoring Well Installation
Page 2
• BP will provide you with the results of the work and information about BP's
environmental investigation.
• BP will protect you from any claims for personal injury or property damage caused by
BP or its contractor during the work.
• If gasoline from BP's current or former operations at the ARCO Site is identified
beneath your property, BP will take all action required by government authorities at
BP's expense.
• Once the monitoring well is no longer required, BP will remove the well and restore
the surface area of your property, at which time this agreement will end.
Once the well installation is completed, the property will need to be accessed once per quarter to
collect groundwater samples from the monitoring wells. We will notify you prior to each
sampling event.
We appreciate your cooperation in this matter. Please sign and return both copies of the Access
Agreement form to our office. We will forward both copies to BP. BP will then sign both copies
and one copy will be returned to you for your files. Upon your authorization to access your
property, we will arrange a time to perform the work and apprise you of the schedule.
Please contact me at (530) 676-6000 if you have any questions regarding this matter.
Sincerely,
STRATUS ENV ENTAL, INC.
XRaJ son, R.G.
anager
cc: Mr. Nuel Henderson, San Joaquin County Public Health Services
Mr. Marty Hartzell, California Regional Water Quality Control Board
Mr. Paul Supple, Atlantic Richfield Company
Attachments: Site Map
Access Agreement (2 copies)
•
P:\Bp-Arco for URS\6100\Correspondence\6100-authorization-033103.doe
