(Twining) is pleased to submit this Supplemental Work Plan for
Additional Soil Assessment (Supplemental Work Plan) at the project site. This work plan
supplements our "Amended Work Plan for Site Characterization..." (Amended Work Plan),
dated March 10, 1995. The scope of the additional soil assessment described herein was
verbally recommended and approved by the San Joaquin County Public Health Services -
'Environmental Health Division (SJCPHS-EHD) during our meeting of May 9, 1996. The
Supplemental Work Plan provides details of field, laboratory, and reporting activities contained
in our proposal TLP 3796-532(revised), dated June 20, 1996. Your signiture of an
Authorization to Proceed form (dated June 24, 1996) provided our authorization to perform the
proposed services.
This Supplemental Work Plan includes a summary of the background issues which necessitated
additional assessment and a description of the technical approach. This information is followed
by details of our corresponding limitations.
BACKGROUND
Twining conducted a site characterization for the project site in December, 1995. The site
characterization report was submitted to you and the SJCPHS-EHD on January 15, 1996.
During a meeting on May 9, 1996, the SJCPHS requested more work at the project site because
the they were not comfortable with the findings presented in the report pertaining to the vertical
extent of petroleum product constituents (PPCs)at the location of soil boring HB-10 drilled near
the eastern dispenser island. It is our understanding that the SJPHS-ESD requires an additional
sample be collected in the vicinity of soil boring HB-10, deeper than 6 feet below surface grade
(BSG). The work scope described below is provided to address the above concerns.
CORPORATE OFFICE: MODESTO VISALIA BAKERSFIELD
2527 Fresno Street 4230 Kiernan Ave.Suite 105 2521 E.Valley Oaks Drive 3701 Pegasus Drive,Suite 124
Fresno,CA 93716 Modesto,CA 95256 Visalia,CA 93292-6710 Bakersfield,CA 93308
(209)268-7021 -Fax 268-7126 (209)545-1050-Fax 545-1147 (209)625-1712-Fax 625-1714 (805)393-5088-Fax 393-4643
