When that
work is completed, they will prepare a comprehensive
environmental site assessment report and will propose several
cleanup alternatives. Their proposal for the supplemental
assessment work was submitted and approved.
The underground storage tanks and piping were removed on July 8,
1987. Tank backfill material was stockpiled on site. Kayo is
presently waiting for the results of the soil analyses to
determine if additional excavation of soil is necessary.
Fast Gas
1919 West Clinton
Fresno, CA
Env. Assessment Consultant: Applied GeoSystems
Remediation Consultant: Applied GeoSystems
This property is leased by Kayo and will be returned to the
property owner. It is my understanding that it will be leased
to another party.
Applied GeoSystems has prepared a remediation plan for the site
and has submitted it to Fresno County and the Fresno Branch,
Central Valley Region, RWQCB. Approvals have been given pending
receipt of the APCD permit and the waste discharge permits .
Verbal approvals have been given for these permits and the
formal approval is expected by May 14 .
The remediation plan consists of groundwater recovery wells and
an air stripping tower to treat the contaminated water. The
equipment has been purchased and is ready to install .
As of July 21, 1987, the necessary permits still have not been
received. This is delaying the implementation of the
remediation plan.
Fast Gas Station
1400 Yosemite Parkway
Merced, CA
Remediation Consultant: Groundwater Technology, Inc.
This site is owned by Kayo but will be sold. Kayo will retain
the responsibility for cleaning up the existing contamination at
the site .
