(EVA:) is pleased to submit this proposal to
install and operate a remediation system at the subject site. The
results of the PerformancE Test conducted by EVAX in November. 1990
indicate that vapor extraction i5 a viable option for remediation of the
soils at the subject site. The Performance Test showed vapor extraction
radii of influence greater than 50 feet. Data obtained during the site
investigation have been used to prepare the final remediation system
a design specifications and develop a program for operation of the system.
The proposed vapor extraction system is presented in Figure 1. This
proposal outlines the activities associated with sy::.tem installation and
operation.
SOIL VAPOR EXTRACTION PROGRAM
The vapor extraction program will proceed in five tasks: 1) Construction
Services, 2) Well Installation, 3) Equipment Installation, 4) Operation
and Maintenance, and 5) Project Management and Review and Report Writing.
CONSTRUCTION SERVICES '
Field Installation
Trenches will be dug and pipes laid according to the system design.
Specifications for the common trenches are given in Detail T-1 of Figure
_--2-. Selected monitoring wells, including the newly installed
' groundwater and vadose zone monitoring wells, will be retrofitted for use
in the system. Well head details for conventional wells are given in
Detail. VW-1, Figure 2. The probes and wells will be connected to the
