During removal of these four tanks in January 1994 eleven additional USTs
and associated piping were discovered These tanks were apparently installed and/or used by previous
site owners/operators (Kayo Ont/Conoco, Douglas Oil, Tokay Oil), their existence was not disclosed to
. Ultramar upon purchase of the property m August 1990. All fifteen tanks were subsequently removed
from the site in January 1994 Removal of the USTs is described in a Delta report entitled Underground
Storage Tank Removal and Soil Sampling, dated March 18, 1994 The former USTs and associated pump
islands locations are shown in Figure 3
Further research into the history of the eleven additional USTs discovered at the site was presented in
Delta's report entitled Rewew of Historic Aenal Photographs and Maps, dated March 22, 1994
Additional ground water monitoring wells and SVE wells were installed by Delta during replacement of
the USTs and distnbution piping in February and March 1994, results are included in Delta's report
entitled, Well Installation Report, dated May 10, 1994 Ultramar sold the property in April 1994, the
new owners have re-opened the site as a Texaco fuel service station
A SVE system was ui operation at the site between July 1991 and February 1996 The system was shut
down in February 1996, due to low influent soil vapor concentrations As of February 1996, 122,690
pounds (19,885 gallons) of vapor equivalent gasoline were extracted from the soil under the site The
SVE system's EVAX catalytic oxidizer was removed from the site in March 1996 In March 1996, Delta
i
I
RPT001 915
