The first boring, located in the area of documented soil
contamination beneath the east end of the former diesel tank pit location, will be
advanced by hollow stem augers to 50 feet below surface grade(bsg). Soil samples for
analysis will be collected every five feet, and one grab water sample will be collected at
final depth. The next four borings will be located to surround the first boring, and will be
advanced to approximately 30 feet beg using a direct push methodology. Soil samples
for analysis will be copected every five feet. The grab groundwater sample will be
analyzed for total petroleum hydrocarbons as diesel (TPHd), TPH as gasoline, benzene,
toluene, ethylbenzene and xylene(BTEX)and methyl tertiary butyl ether(MTBE). The
soil samples will be analyzed for TPHd, and BTEX.
The work plan did not include a site specific Health and Safety Plan. In a conversation
with URSGWC it was understood that a copy of said plan would be provided to
PHS/EHD prior to site mobilization.
The work plan as outlined above is approved. Please submit a well permit application,
signed by the licensed C-57 driller who will be performing the work, and required$89.00
fee to PHS/EHD as soon as possible.
