The NFAR report is based on the results of investigations, remedial
actions and monitoring conducted over the last 11 years. A Case Closure Summary is included in
Appendix A.
The NFAR request includes the following elements in support of regulatory closure:
• Compilations of Available Analytical Data for Soil and Groundwater: Data results,
sampling methods and detection limits are summarized in tabular format.
• Summaries of Site Assessment Activities: These summaries of Site investigations
conducted to date demonstrate that the geologic and hydrogeologic environment and
reported hydrocarbon impacts to soil and groundwater at the Site, have been
adequately characterized.
• Summaries of Remedial Actions: Remedial actions undertaken at the Site are
summarized to indicate the extent to which efforts to clean up the Site have been
accomplished.
• Sensitive Potential Receptor Survey: Water wells and surface water bodies in the Site
vicinity are identified to determine the potential,if any, for impacts due to the
presence of dissolved-phase Site contaminants.
• Summary of Human Health Risk Assessment: Evaluation of potential
human health risks according to guidance for conducting a Tier 2
Human Health Risk Assessment using the Risk-Based Corrective
Actions(RBCA) Tool Kit for Chemical Releases.
2.0 SITE BACKGROUND
2.1 Site Description
The Site is located in a commercially zoned area at 1645 Cherokee Road, Stockton, California.
One 1,000-gallon diesel and one 6,000-gallon gasoline underground storage tank(UST)were
previously maintained onsite for an unknown period of time and were removed from the Site by
Thorpe Oil Company in January 1999• The Site, currently owned by CCT, is a non-paved
triangular lot that operated as a rail yard and maintenance facility by CCT. The Site is bounded
to the north by a commercial facility,to the southwest by Sanguinetti Lane, and to the southeast
by Cherokee Road. A Site Vicinity map is included as Figure 1 and a Site Plan showing all
historical and recent boring locations is included as Figure 2.
2.2 Site Geology and Hydrogeology
The subject property is situated at an elevation of 21 feet above mean sea level (ft MSL) and lies
within the Great Valley Province, which is dominated by the alluvial basin of the Sacramento
Valley.
