1590 Solano Way
Concord, CA 94520
200,E
t=nt
December 17, 2007 TRC Project No. 151793
Ms. Lori Duncan
San Joaquin County
Environmental Health Department
boo East Main Street
Stockton, California 95202
RE: Additional Soil and Groundwater Investigation Work Plan -
Addendum
Central California Traction Company(CCT)Stockton Rail Yard
1645 Cherokee Road
Stockton, California
Dear Ms. Duncan:
On behalf of Central California Traction Company(CCT),TRC submits this Additional
Soil and Groundwater Investigation Work Plan Addendum in response to comments
from the San Joaquin County Environmental Health Department(SJCEHD) in a letter
dated November 26, 2007 concerning the Additional Soil and Groundwater
Investigation Work Plan submitted by TRC on October 4, 2007.
The responses to the SJCEHD comments are provided herein to clarify CCT's position
regarding proposed investigation activities at the site and are included below in a point-
by-point format.
LOCATION OF WWCSF-78
SJCEHD Comment Paragraph 3:
TRC indicated...sample WWCSF-78 was collected from the north wall...the CLS Report,
describes the location of WWCSF-78 as `West wall floor'. TRC did not provide an
explanation of how they determined that this sample was actually collected from the
north wall of the excavation and notfrom the west wall.
TRC Response:
TRC determined the presumed location of sample WWCSF-78 based on Sheet 1o,
Excavation Plot w/Confirmation Sample Locations of the CLS Report which shows the
location of sample WWCSF-78 near the north wall of the excavation. However, as the
SJCEHD has indicated, Table 2, Remedial Progress Sampling Results, submitted in the
CLS Report, describes the location of WWCSF-78 as`West wall-floor'.
