Mr. Cecchini
January 21, 1993
Page 2
Analytical results for the composite soil samples analysis showed nondetectable TVH, and
BTEX and EPH ranging from 24 to 1,900 milligrams per Kilogram(mg/kg). Title 26 metals
are all well below TTLC concentrations. Lead was nondetectable in one sample and 4
mg/Kg in the second sample. The fish bioassay results were >750 mg/L interpreted as
nontoxic. Certificates of analyses were attached to the October 1992 workplan.
Soil Maintenance
During remediation, the soil will be kept moist using an automatic sprinkler system. The
system will be designed to keep soil moisture content at 20 to 30 percent. This moisture
content is optimum for microbial growth and will also help in dust control of the spread soil.
The system will be checked weekly to assure that it is operational.
Responsible Personnel
The following personnel will be responsible for the sites maintenance:
Robert Cecchini Work: 510-634-4400
Home: 209-727-0676
Mobile: 209-481-1664
Ellis Cecchini Work: 510-754-6363
Paul Marsden (ESE) Work: 510-685-4053
Executive Summary
An executive summary of the proposed work, as requested, is attached to this document.
Verification Analyses
Soil sampling, to verify completion of remediation, will be witnessed by San Joaquin County
as requested. The following verification analysis will be performed on the collected
composite soil samples:
• Extractable Petroleum Hydrocarbons (EPH) as diesel using California DOHS
Methods,
• Total Volatile Hydrocarbons(TVH)as gasoline using the California DOHS Methods,
• Benzene, Toluene, Ethylbenzene, and Total Xylenes (BTEX) using EPA method
5030/8020, and
• Total Lead Using EPA method 7420.
