Final Remediation Work Plan
CHEROKEE TRUCK STOP
3535 East Cherokee Road, Stockton, California
1.0. INTRODUCTION
At the request of Mr. Ellis Cecchini of Cecchini, Cecchini, and Giovannoni, Advanced
GeoEnvironmental, Inc. (AGE) has prepared this work plan for 3535 East Cherokee Road,
Stockton, California (site).
The proposed scope of work includes the installation eight (8) soil vapor extraction (SVE)
remediation wells, performance of high vacuum soil vapor extraction and preparation of
quarterly remediation reports. The site setting is illustrated on Figure 1. Proposed work,
structures, monitoring wells, and soil boring locations are illustrated on Figure 2.
In the Five-Day High Vacuum Soil Vapor Extraction Pilot Test Report dated 21 March
2011, AGE recommended implementation of remediation technologies to mitigate the
petroleum hydrocarbon contamination to the soil that directly poses a threat to ground
water at the site. On 14 July 2011, the San Joaquin County Environmental Health
Department(EHD)approved AGE's recommendation byletterand directed the preparation
of a remedial action plan.
Due to disruption in the State Water Resources Control Board - Underground Storage
Tank Cleanup Fund (USTCF) claim for the site, it was recommended that the remedial
action be held in abeyance. Since that decision, Fund staff conferred and agreed that this
remediation is a reasonable and appropriate course of action. Additional funding for
remediation was allocated for this site and claim.
This work plan was prepared in accordance with the California Regional Water Quality
Control Board's Tri-Regional Board StaffRecommendations for Preliminary Evaluation and
Investigation of Underground Tank Sites guidelines for investigation of UST sites.
2.0. SCOPE OF WORK
Based on analytical results from previous site assessments and the five-day SVE pilot test,
AGE proposes a high vacuum soil vapor extraction (HVSVE) remediation technology to
mitigate the soil contamination. The remedial efforts will focus within the area of the highest
petroleum contamination (former pump island area and tank locations) to prepare for the
remediation of impacted soil at the site.
The scope of work will consist of the following tasks:
• Permitting, planning and pre-field work activities;
Advanced GeoEnvironmental,Inc.
