Excavation History: Site was used by various rental tenants as a truck yard _
and fueling station for tenant's trucks. Jim Thorpe Oil, Inc. removed 1-2,000
gallon regular gasoline tank and 1-10,000 gallon diesel tank and pump island
and plumbing on January 20, 1989. See drawing "B" for layout of former tanks
and piping.
The hole the 2,000 gallon tank was in, the soil conditions appeared to
{. be in good condition and-there was little or no odor of gasoline in the
excavation.
In removal of the pump island a strong odor of gasoline was noticed and
the soil was discolored. The odor and discoloration seemed to migrate to the
I south towards the west end of the 10,000 gallon diesel tank excavation. The
aiesel tank appeared to be in good condition and no odor or discoloration was
noticed from the east end to the middle of the excavation. It is our opinion
--that-the-contamination-in-the-west-end-of-the-diesel-t;nk-excavation__and n_the
-- T.
trench where the pump island waslocated came from plumbing beneath the pump
island and migrated in a southerly:. direction.
