r <br /> 22 July 2002 <br /> ' AGE-NC Project No 97-0312 <br /> I Page 2 of 5 - <br /> , F <br /> J <br /> The small on-site domestic well was purged and sampled on 08 May 2002, and both the small and <br /> large on-site domestic wells were purged and sampled on 10 June 2002 To purge the small domestic <br /> well, a faucet between the well and the water holding tank was opened to allow the pump to cycle <br /> for approximately 15 minutes To purge the large domestic well, a drain valve was opened on the <br /> water storage tank and the pump was allowed to cycle on and off for approximately 15 minutes <br /> N ` 1 <br /> I2 2 COLLECTION OF GROUND WATER SAMPLES <br />' The depth to water in the monitoring wells was re-measured following purging to assure a minimum <br /> of 80%recharge prior to sampling Water samples were retrieved from each purged monitoring well <br /> using new disposable bailers and an equipment blank was collected from the discharge hose of the <br />' 2-inch submersible purge,pump following decontamination To sample the domestic wells, a <br /> sampling port was opened at the well head and samples were collected from the sampling port while <br /> the pump was operating to obtain fresh water samples Each sample was transferred into four <br /> laboratory-supplied 40-m1 EPA-approved VOA vials containing 0 5 ml of 18% hydrochloric acid <br /> as a sample preservative and into one 1-liter amber bottle without preservative <br /> 10M The samples collected on 10 June 2002 were labeled, placed in a chilled container and transported <br /> under chain-of-custody to McCampbell Analytical Inc (MAI), a California Department of Health <br /> IServices (DHS)-certified analytical laboratory in Pacheco The samples were analyzed for <br /> • Total petroleum hydrocarbons quantified as gasoline (TPH-g) and diesel (TPH-d) in <br />' accordance with EPA Methods 5030/8015m and 3550/8015m, respectively, <br /> • Benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene and total xylenes (BTEX) and methyl tertiary-butyl ether <br /> (MTBE) in accordance with EPA Method 8021, <br />' The fuel oxygenates MTBE, di-isopropyl ether (DIPS), ethyl tertiary-butyl ether (ETBE), <br /> tertiary-amyl methyl ether (TAME) and tertiary-butanol (TBA) in accordance with EPA <br />' Method 8260B, and ' <br /> • Halogenated volatile organic compounds(HVOCs) in accordance with EPA Method 8010 <br /> IThe sample collected on 08 May 2002 from the small domestic well was labeled,placed in a chilled <br /> container and transported under chain-of-custody to Cal Tech Environmental Laboratories(CTEL), <br />' a CaliformaDepartment of Health Services(DHS)-certified analytical laboratory in Paramount The <br /> sample was analyzed for volatile organic compounds in accordance with EPA Method <br /> IAdvanced GcoEnvironmental,Inc <br />
