Toluene was detectable in well UST-1 at concentrations lower than that reported for
November 1993 TPH as gasoline remained nondetectable. Benzene was nondetectable this
quarter compared to 4 ppb last quarter TPH as diesel and ethylbenzene increased slightly
relative to the November data, but are within the same magnitude of concentrations as the
previous quarter
3 3 GROUND WATER RECOVERY (INTERIM REMEDIATION
As a result of the continued detectable TPH in well UST-1, interim remediation was
initiated for this site in the Third quarter of 1993 This quarter Mr Robert Cecchini
performed bi-weekly evacuation of water from Well UST-1 for a period of three months
from January to March 1994. He performed the following tasks each visit
Measured water and product levels in the well UST-1 using an electric water level
sounder and recorded the data.
Evacuated approximately 55 gallons of water from well UST-1 using an electric
submersible pump The volume of water pumped from the well was recorded
The water evacuated from well UST-1 was stored in DOT rated drums in a secure
area of the site When a sufficient volume of water is accumulated at the site, the
well owners will dispose of the purged water through a licensed recycler
Documents from the interim remediation activity are attached as Appendix C A total of
330 allons of water was evacuated from well UST-1 from January 12 to March 24, 1994
F\692S400\igmr94 rpt 6 Environmental Science&Engineering Inc
