` 1 4
F 1 }
rW
28 January 2005 ,
• AGE-NC Project No 97-0312
• During the November 2004 monitoring event, no target analytes were detected at or above
' laboratory reporting limits in the ground water samples collected
• Tetrachloroethylene (PCE) was not detected in sample UST-7 during fourth quarter 2004
I' The source of the low concentrations of PCE detected in UST-7 during previous monitoring
events is unknown to AGE and may be from an off-site source Since installation of the well
in 2003, the PCE concentrations in well UST-7 have not exceeded the DHS' Maximum
Contaminant Level (MCL) of 5 0 µg/l in drinking water
• The reported concentrations and lateral extent of analytes of concern have remained
relatively stable during the past three years of monitoring Based on the analytical results of
the ground water sample collected from UST-7, the vertical extent of petroleum
hydrocarbon-impacted ground water at,the site appears to be limited to the uppermost
hydrogeologic zone
5.0. RECOMMENDATIONS
Based on the results of the current and previous quarterly ground water monitoring events, AGE
I. recommends continued monitoring of the on-site monitoring and domestic wells The first quarter
r'
2005 ground water monitoring event is tentatively scheduled for March 2005
AGE is presently preparing a work plan for installation of an additional"deep"zone well in the area
of former well UST-1 Installation of the additional monitoring well was directed by the EHD in
letters dated 09 October 2001 and 13 July 2004 r
6.0. LIMITATIONS
Our professional services were performed using that degree of care and skill ordinarily exercised by
Ienvironmental consultants practicing in this or similar localities The findings were based mainly
upon analytical results provided by an independent laboratory Evaluation of the hydrogeologic
conditions at the site for the purpose of this investigation was made from a limited number of
available data points (i a monitoring wells, and domestic well samples) and subsurface conditions
may vary away from these data points No other warranty, expressed or implied, is made as to the
professional interpretations, opinions, and recommendations contained in this report
Advanced GeoEnvironmental,Inc
1
